Immigration law

World travel and moving to other countries is more common than ever. That includes visas, residency issues, employment of foreigners and other aspects of immigration law that are more relevant today than ever. We are witnessing the appearance of a skyrocketing number of foreign citizens who are deciding to live and work in Croatia, not only for the summer season.

According to the Foreigners Act, a foreigner is considered to be any person who does not have Croatian citizenship and the same law regulates the conditions for issuing a residence (and work) permit to third-country nationals. Third-country nationals are persons who do not have the citizenship of an EEA Member State or the Swiss Confederation and who have the citizenship of a third country or are stateles. Therefore, citizens of the European Union and the Swiss Confederation in Croatia have a special and privileged status in comparison to other citizens of the world.

Employment of foreigners has become one of the most sought-after legal services, especially after the new Foreigners Act, which entered into force on 1 January 2021, and further complicated the conditions under which foreigners can be employed in the Republic of Croatia. On the other hand, this amended law recognized some modern phenomena, so “digital nomads” are finally recognized as welcome guests in Croatia and they are allowed to stay in Croatia for up to a year, if they collect all the necessary documentation and obtain a residence permit popularly called “a digital nomad visa”.

If you need to quickly and reliably obtain a residency permit, visa or you want to open your own company or a business, contact us for support.

We provide representation and legal advice in the process of obtaining residence permits, representation and legal advice in the process of obtaining citizenship, representation and legal advice related to accommodation issues, opening a bank account, legal advice when obtaining visas, representation in visa appeals procedures, representation and legal advice of asylum seekers, etc.

We will advise you to recognize the best option for your situation and help you successfully regulate your stay in the Republic of Croatia.
